The Height Modernization program is spreading
across the United States. The program began because of the need
to improve the geodetic vertical network in California and North
Carolina. But as other states learned about the benefits of Height
Modernization they saw the value of a program in their state. Support
for these programs is provided in the form of grants, identified
in the Congressional Budget to be awarded to organizations or agencies
in the states through NOAA's National Geodetic Survey.
If your state has been designated to receive Height
Modernization funds and your organization has been designated to
receiving funding, you can begin the application process via the
Grants.gov
web site.
